AmpCamp Kids

Ben’s fundraiser exceeded all expectations last year and with the added addition of funds from other people’s fundraiser’s the target was hit. With these funds that you helped to raise, we were able to announce three camps immediately. But the fundraising cannot, will not and must stop there. We need your help again this year, and it is even more vital to the children and us at the Limb-it-Less team that we retain or gain your help. So, 2022’s Fundraiser is Born.

So, what is Ampcamp kids, well if you have not heard of this amazing, new and inspirational project already then I shall explain. Ampcamp was a brainchild and idea brought about by Ben Lovell during various lockdowns. Ben Already assists and helps to rehabilitate, comfort and assist adult amputees, post and pre amputation and so set about starting Ampcamps for adults. However, Ben did not want to just assist adults. Although not an Amputee at a young age Ben mentally tried to establish what it must be like for an amputee child growing up with these various limitations and with some of stigma attached to being an Amputee that Ben had learnt of, on he’s own journey. Also, as a parent Ben wanted to understand how parents cope with the situation. Then why not crossover the Adult retreats into child versions.

The mission is to send six amputee children away with their parents to Ampcamp Kids in Tenerife for 7 days of fun in the sun at no cost to the family. Each trip costs in the region of £15’000

During the week the Team will provide fun and entertainment from Whale Watching to visiting water parks, karaoke nights to afternoons spent making arts and crafts from Beach Finds. Within the week we like to take the parents out and away from the children for a golf day or a spa day, giving parents a well deserved break from parenting and the chance to talk and open up about anything they want to with the Limb-it-Less Team. There is on site chefs to provide the families with a refreshing break to the norm with their diets, the Team is also hand to offer guides on nutrional foods and dinners The villa the families will stay is a modern, spacious Ten bedroom, beautiful retreat. On site pool and relaxing garden area to watch sunrise and sunset together.

These trips are fully funded through the help of fundraisers and sponsors, so we need your HELP. Whether you choose to donate a pound or even sponsor a family.
