Help AMOS Shelter save lives!

• At the moment, we have more than two hundred animals in our care (14 newborn kittens, 2 handicapped storks, 3 goats, approximately 70 cats and 60 dogs, and of course let's not forget our 30 chickens, 1 rooster, and 50 pigeons as well) and with only two people and a limited amount of resources we can only get so far.

• We have two shelters. The first one and the one we started with is located in the country's capital, Skopje. There we built a couple of kennels and a small room for stray cats that we are using temporarily until we save enough money to build the permanent AMOS shelter in Skopje. Nevertheless, our initial plan changed when we were asked for help from the municipality of Gostivar which is 60km away from Skopje. We are still in the process of renovating the Gostivar shelter and after that is finished and with at least one adequate person to help us run it, we will continue our plan in Skopje. At the moment we build, renovate, help, vaccinate, buy equipment, and almost everything else with our own paychecks. In all of this there is one tiny but crucial detail that should be mentioned, we are only two people in this organization (for now) and we are one of the most active organisations in this country. We help country wide and we have dedicated our lives to the lives we save, animals. Yes, we have an agreement with the municipality of Gostivar and that is only so that they give us permission to help them take the dogs off of the streets and use one of the municipalities properties for our purpose. Although, this might sound great and wonderful, it is very difficult, especially with only two people.

• We are an association for the protection of animals, against cruelty to animals, and one of the only associations in our country that have built a shelter for animals which is functional but far from the standards that we dream to have in the future.
