Fund for Wheelchair Lift

I didn't think it could happen, but it did. My life journey has taken a detour into a new life adventure.

I am a 38 years old guy lives in Sungai Buloh with my mom and dad whom aged 74 and 70 respectively. I was an active person who had wonderful years working in financial industry, loves to sing, enjoy cooking, involved in extreme sports and travel the world.

My life has changed since August 16th, 2020. It was a wet evening, I was on my way back home from work assignment, that’s when I had involved in a car accident that injured my spinal cord at C4 and C5 level. After 3 months in Intensive Care Unit, Kuala Lumpur General Hospital, I have to accept the fact that I have to live with paralyzed body except for my left limb which the doctors categorised as Tetraplegia Asia A individual.

I have fought my way to live in this new condition as a whole new experience. Going through series of rehabilitation treatments to discover new abilities. However the rise of living and medical cost has greatly impacted me as I need to look after my 74 year old mom whose currently fighting againts stage 4 cancer. This supressing me further as I have been retired from work due to my disability since September 1st, 2022.

As of now whenever my mom went for her cancer treatment, I have to be left alone at home in bed as I am not able to transfer myself to my wheelchair and into the car. Prior to this I have been proposed by many to install a wheelchair lift on my car so I can tag along instead being left alone unattended. However the cost to build and install this device is beyond my financial ability (MYR40,000 / USD8,800).

By having this lift will create a chace for me to accompany my mom and a new opportunity for me to live my life to see the outside world beyond the four walls of my bedroom. I would be able to have a chance to attend classes, assist for groceries shopping or at least feel the warmth of the sun.

I've created this GoGet funding page to help me have that chance. It starts small. A simple act of kindness, but it can ripple out and create an ocean of prosperity in the world.

This is will be a start for me to venture out for my treatment, accompanying my beloved mother and to explore other opportunities when the time comes.
