Dear Friends,

I am here to inform you that Amim, a promising researcher, would like to obtain the chance of pursuing PhD in the field of Leadership and Management at the Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. In the meantime, he has completed three semesters and also has successfully defended his proposal and submitted final proposal. The proposal has already been approved by the committee. Now he is prepared to collect data and take interviews.

The total expenditure for pursuing the PhD is RM 78600 (US$19,650) that includes tuition fees RM 30600, subsistence, accommodation and personal expenses: RM 36000, field study and data collection 12000 RM.

Unfortunately enough, he is now completely unable to run his PhD study for some unwanted situation he recently faced in a sudden manner in his life. He had two commitments of scholarship, one was from a family-elder who has suddenly collapsed financially because of a recent business failure and the other was from an organization and they also have informed him that they have revised their decision and cannot afford a scholarship nowadays due to their cost-cutting policy. In the meantime, for PhD purpose, he has already taken a loan of US$5000.

Besides, he has to bear the educational expenses of his younger sister and brother, and expenses of his family and ailing parents. Also, he has to make Malaysia-Bangladesh round-trips at least three times a year for the same purpose.

In these circumstances, the boat is now facing a hurdle in the middle of the sea and seeing no shore at all.

Now, for the most part, only a financial aid can show the path to Amim.

The post is to explain the cause and to request you to consider my appeal regarding financial assistance to him for the smooth completion of his PhD program.

Thank You,

Masud Zakaria
