Amikelive System Architect: From Zero to One

Amikelive Tech is a blog for technology enthusiasts who are tinkering with latest research, advances and trends in technologies. It has been around since 2007 (11 years!) and hopefully for years to come. Currently all the contents in the blog are provided for free. However, this will change a little bit for better sustainability.

About the Course Author

My name is Mikael Fernandus Simalango, or simply Mike in the shorter version. I did my graduate study in computer engineering and then spent some good years working at General Electric (GE). I was there during the cloud computing nascent time and even wrote my own chapter in the Handbook of Cloud Computing. After my stint at GE, I jumped to the startup world, trying to push breakthrough technologies and innovation forward to the mass. These days I'm serving a CTO role at Team Mondrian, a South Korean startup and also founding an AI-powered travel startup.

Why This Course?

Throughout my academic and professional journey, I often found out that ideas stalled at concept or design stage and were never materialized. Oftentimes, this happened because nobody was eager or thought about having the ability to execute, to turn the ideas into real product or service. If you are building a web or mobile app, you may immediately think it's overwhelming to do everything by yourself: the frontend, backend, and design. It can be very scary to imagine the time needed to master all the required technologies. It can take years and by the time you are ready, the new technology is already emerging at the horizon.

Hence the course, it is designed to be a pragmatic approach to master the important aspects of system development so that you can start instead of waiting. It is time for you to create your own system. It is time to turn zero to one.
