Amelie’s Big Run!

‘’It was at the funeral of  much loved family friend Val Fish,  that a beaming smile and an infectious giggle brought out the true spirit of who Val was - generous, humble, devoted and prepared to share anything she had.  The little giggler was Amelie Gledhill. Amelie is a tough fighter who has endured numerous operations, painful treatments and energy sapping medication for almost all of her young life.  More importantly, Amelie is funny, loving, inquisitive, brave and charming. When asked what Santa was bringing her for Christmas she replied '...a bat with a ball attached by elastic so I can play like my friends but no-one would have to run after the ball for me when I'm in my wheelchair.' So, inspired by the spirit of who Val was and touched by the humility of Amelie I'm lacing up my trainers again and I'm hoping to get Amelie her bat and ball...and maybe we could all help her get the private wash room she so desperately needs to retain her dignity during the rounds of daily treatments and medications. I'll be running with Val and Amelie in my thoughts and knowing that whatever pain I may be feeling is nothing compared to Amelie's experiences. So, if you could donate anything at all to help me get to my £1,000 target I'd be hugely grateful and together we can help the little smiler keep on smiling!
