Hello to all of my Supporters:

I have been accepted to attend Tuskegee University in the College of Agriculture, Environment and Nutrition Science with a major in Animal Poultry and Veterinary Sciences for the Fall of 2016. Tuskegee is one of 28 Universities in the United States that offers a prestigious Veterinarian program. Being accepted to Tuskegee has been my dream come true. However, I do not have the funds needed to pay for the tuition and housing expenses required to attend the University.

I would love the opportunity to attend an HBCU (Historical Black College and University) to obtain a Bachelors degree in Animal Poultry and Veterinary Sciences. After receiving my Bachelors degree, I will continue to strive academically to achieve my goal of becoming one of few African American female Veterinarians.

In 2013, after graduating from High School, I began attending a Community College which was the best decision I could have made academically and financially. In May 2016, I will be graduating from Oakland Community College with an Associate's Degree in Science. Ever since I was 3 years old, I knew I wanted to be a Veterinarian and work with animals because of my love for them. I even started a small rescue center on my back porch and would daily search my neighborhood for lost animals. It was my goal to provide a safe place for them to receive shelter and food if they were without a home.

I believe I was birthed with a deep passion and love for animals. It is my hearts desire to ensure that the needs of animals are being met through optimal Veterinary care. My ultimate goal is to open my own animal hospital for families who can not afford to pay for their sick animals. I would provide medical services and offer a payment plan while their animals remain at my facility until payment is made in full. This would be an alternative to having their sick animal euthanized due to lack of immediate funds.

My dog Max, whom I had since I was 6 years old and loved very much, passed away from Canine Lymphoma on October 14, 2015 at 14 years old. He was my everything and meant the world to me. Max has been and will forever be my motivation to follow my dreams of caring for animals and nurturing them like I did for him.

Please help me attend Tuskegee University in Fall 2016 by contributing to my Go-Get-Funding Campaign.

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,
Amber M. Wafer
