Amazon Shelter Fire Damage

As you know there have been constant on-going fires throughout the Amazon Rainforest. Fires are still spreading, especially with this season being extremely dry. Our team has been on alert and taking precautions around the region.

Yesterday afternoon, one of our monkey enclosures caught on fire during the hottest time of day. It all started with a spark and in seconds the whole enclosure was in flames, it began to spread around the forest. We luckily caught it in time, but did not manage to save the entire enclosure. No animals were harmed, but this enclosure was being prepared for the arrival of two white fronted Ecuadorian capuchins that will be arriving within the next two weeks.

Inside the enclosure the platform, house and roofing were completely burnt down. This means we have to rebuild what was destroyed and that's where we need your help!

The two capuchins are already on their way, leaving us in an urgent situation. We need help raising as much money as we can to fix this as soon as possible. We have less than two weeks! So if you can donate anything at all, we will greatly appreciate it.

Como saben, ha habido constantes incendios continuos en toda la selva amazónica. Los incendios aún se están extendiendo, especialmente con esta temporada extremadamente seca. Nuestro equipo ha estado alerta y tomando precauciones en toda la región.

Ayer por la tarde, uno de nuestros ambientes de monos se incendió durante el momento más caluroso del día. Todo comenzó con una chispa y en segundos todo el ambiente estaba en llamas, comenzó a extenderse por el bosque. Afortunadamente lo atrapamos a tiempo, pero no logramos salvar todo el ambiente. Ningún animal resultó dañado, pero este recinto se estaba preparando para la llegada de dos capuchinos ecuatorianos de frente blanca que llegarán en las próximas dos semanas.

Dentro del ambiente, la plataforma, la casa y el techo se quemaron por completo. Esto significa que tenemos que reconstruir lo que fue destruido y ahí es donde necesitamos su ayuda!

Los dos capuchinos ya están en camino, dejándonos en una situación urgente. Necesitamos ayuda para recaudar la mayor cantidad de dinero posible para solucionar esto lo antes posible. Tenemos menos de dos semanas! Entonces, si puede donar algo, lo apreciaremos enormemente.
