If you know our mom, you would know how stubborn she is, when it comes to these medical things. She doesn’t want to know how sick she is, and the last thing she would like is for people to treat her differently if any case they learn that she is. She was complaining about her kidney issue for almost a year now, but no one has the clear picture, because she really doesn’t want to have herself checked. The two options provided were continuous dialysis or transplant. With her current medical state the continuous dialysis will dry her up, which is why the more preferred was the latter.
Early last month, when finally she allowed us all to know about the gravity of the situation, we were shocked and realized how unprepared we are. We learned that the reason why she was enduring so much pain was because her kidney function is now down to 6%. We are thankful that we know, but now it’s a race against time.
Our family and her closest friends joined together to organize this fundraiser, to show her that not only will the people who care for her not love her less, we are actually here to join her in this battle.
