700,000 people in the UK suffer from Alzheimer’s disease

Jane Metcalf, was diagnosed in 2002.

One in 10 people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease is younger than 65.

She was 31.

This new drama documents the final 3 years of 39 year old mother Jane, as she slowly succumbs to the effects of Early Onset Alzheimer's disease, and Karen, her 20 year old daughter, as she cares for the mother who no longer recognises who she is. We see how deep the bond between a mother and daughter really is, and what people will do, for those they care most about.

              JANE :
"
When they first told me I had
This. I thought, nah,
that’s what old people get.
My Gran.
Your Great Gran. She had it.

Old people get dementia.
That’s not what I’ve got.

But then, they
explained it to me.

And all that was going
around and around in my head,
was the word, “no”

Whilst I have already injected £1500 into the project to get it started, it's going to cost £4500 in total to get it completed. This money goes towards paying for the actors, the locations, travel expenses, as well as the hiring of equipment. It also allows me to enter the completed film into film festivals in 2013, which itself is a costly process.

Any money that you would be willing to part with to help me out would be most welcome, and I would be extremely grateful for your help. Just a pound of your money, will go towards this project with so much potential.

This is a story that has yet to be told. Alzheimer's disease has been cronicalled within film, within IRIS for example, but it is very rare that these films deal with young, working class people getting the disease. The film has the possibility to raise awareness for a disease that so many thousands of people have, and that people are often willing to look over.

Thank you my friends.
