Despite the challenges of the three Covid-ravaged years, we pushed ahead and kept 'live' music playing throughout the pandemic. Music and the arts have proven to be a positive force for our community in good and bad times. Please consider a contribution to support this great industry.

Support us to continue supporting musicians and bringing you great concerts!

ALTENBURG ARTS is the only independent presenter in Singapore with a full season of classical music concerts featuring international artists, specialising in solo recitals and chamber music. Our focus is on great musical works, best experienced with a powerful sense of immediacy. Bringing this music to life are the world’s finest, most sought-after soloists and chamber musicians.

In its inaugural 2019/20 season, Altenburg Arts presented two concerts by the legendary pianist Martha Argerich in Shanghai at the Shanghai Grand Theater. On home ground in Singapore, it presented recitals by such internationally renowned names as pianists Yevgeny Sudbin and Kun-Woo Paik, violinist Yao Jue and the Hong Kong String Orchestra, and rising star baritone Zhou Zhengzhong.

Following widespread cancellations arising from the Covid-19 pandemic, Altenburg Arts made a triumphant return to the concert hall with an all-Bach recital by cellist Qin Li-Wei in January 2021 at the Esplanade, followed by an all-Beethoven recital with Qin and pianist Albert Tiu. From June to early November, Altenburg Arts presented the first and only solo piano recitals by visiting international artists since the start of the pandemic, featuring pianists Haiou Zhang, Kate Liu, Chiyan Wong and Zlata Chochieva.

In 2022/23, Altenburg Arts' line-up included soprano Sumi Jo, violinists Hyeyoon Park, Kevin Zhu and Paul Huang, and pianists Martha Argerich, Eric Lu, Arnaldo Cohen, Kun-Woo Paik, Benjamin Grosvenor, Louis Lortie, Lilya Zilberstein, Yevgeny Sudbin, Pietro De Maria, Kit Armstrong, Juho Pohjonen, Lucas Debargue, Anton Gerzenberg and Yunchan Lim.

For the 2023/24 season, Altenburg Arts presents violinist Kevin Zhu, pianists Piotr Anderszewski, Dang Thai Son and Kirill Gerstein, and the Singapore debuts of cellists Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Chen Yibai, pianists Anna Geniushene, Isata Kanneh-Mason, Andrey Gugnin and Zoltán Fejérvári, and soprano Julia Lezhneva.

Altenburg Arts was founded with a mission to:

  • engage, inspire, educate and entertain communities through the arts, particularly classical music
  • enliven the artistic and cultural calendar of Singapore
  • contribute to high-quality local and international classical music programming in Singapore.
