ALTafawk Center, Palestine

The ALTafawk Center is an unique institution for children aged 3-16 years in Jenin Camp, Palestine, since 2011.

The Center is beside school the only education facility in the refugee camp. We teach Englisch and Arabic, help the students with their homework, get them prepared for their exams and even more important we give the children a place to be with their friends after school. About 110 children come here everyday.

Most of the families in the refugee camp lost everything they owned in 2002 during the second intifada. People are still suffering under the Israelian occupation, especially the families from the camp live in poverty - they can´t even provide health insurance which costs about 200€ per month.

Mona Jalamnh, the owner of the Center, does everything she can to support the families. She is the most passionated working woman I know, financing the project by herself working extra shifts during the night to fulfill her dream to build up dreams and hopes for the children.

Right now I´m a volunteer at the Center, being confrontaded by the life conditions in the camp everyday. To show my support for Mona and this wonderful project in beautiful Palestine I now start this funding campaign. The money will be used to buy medicine, get health insurance for the kids, and to buy teaching material such as paper, books, posters...
