ALS AWARENESS

My dad was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) in May 2017. It started with difficulty in speaking which eventually lead to difficulty in swallowing. In May 2018, my dad was hospitalized because of weakness brought about by his inability to eat and drink properly. His doctor told us that he needs gastrostomy tube for feeding. His pulmonologist also suggested to have tracheostomy as a preparation for respiratory problems or breathing problems in the future. He is now ventilator dependent.

Last October 10, my dad was rushed back to the hospital because of infection-- pneumonia. We arrived in the hospital at 2 in the morning and his BP went down to 60/40. We were able to finish his 14-day antibiotic treatment in the ICU because he is in ventilator. He is now cleared for discharge but we cannot go home because we cannot pay our hospital bill.

Right now, our hospital bill is ₱781,000.00 and is continuously running. My family is asking for financial support to pay his hospital bill and for his continuous treatment.
