Campaign Story
Introducing Alovoa, the private free & open-source dating web application that you actually want

Getting tired of paying tons of money to dating apps while they sell your data? Annoyed that people are being suggested to you that you know you will never even like? Don't like ads that follow you everywhere on the web? You want to use it on any device you own? Well, here is the solution.
Here is an example what the current online dating situation looks like:

Our promises in one picture

So what is Alovoa exactly?
As stated above, it's a dating web application built on open standards. It uses the latest technologies, is ad-free, properly encrypts your most important data and is completely free to use and enjoy! No nasty micro-transactions or subscriptions, no paying for "super-likes", "unlimited swipes", "unlimited message", "unlock profile views" or anything else. Alovoa aims to finance itself only through donations. Downside is that there are almost no benefits for backers, because everyone has the same rights. The backer reward amount will be added to your Alovoa public profile so that you can brag about it :)
Sounds too good to be true? You can even view the entire source code on Github (Note: It's currently a work in progress)! Being open-source also means that anyone can improve on the software: bug reports, performance improvements and security issues can be handled quickly this way. One additional feature that the platform offers is to chose what you actually want from the application. You can choose between:
- Meeting new people and find new friends
- A romantic relationship that actually goes somewhere
- A one-night stand or sexual adventure
This way you will never be harassed by those who seek different things.
What will you do with the funding?
Most of the funding will go to marketing, because no one want to be on a social platform without any users. The rest will be used for Gogetfunding fees, taxes, rent, some legal stuff, instant ramen and coffee :)
This sounds like a great project, but I have questions! How can I help? I have some great suggestions that will make it even better!
Questions and suggestions should be addressed in this newly created subreddit.

Final note: Application name and logo are definitely not final :)
Risks and challenges
Basic features will take a few months, but should definitely be possible on due date. What worries me the most are the strict German laws and getting approval from various legal departments, for small things such as trademarks. This could cause a delay, but it should be nothing major.
