Hello!

Together with Tito Family, we’re knocking on your hearts for our mother, Mama Alma Tito. After last year's 3 months of continuous bleeding, it is unfortunate that I have to share the bad news that she got diagnosed with Stage II G4P3 (3013) Cervical Adenocarcinoma – a cervical cancer. We’re hoping that you’ll support us in her fight to be cancer-free, by helping us raise funds to cover her chemotherapy treatments, radiotherapy, medicines, and lab tests.

Her Story

My mother is a friendly person. She is known for being hardworking, loving and caring mother. After my father left us last 2012, she did her best to take care of us even though it means that she needs to be a father and a mother at the same time. She's a final presser (taga-plantsa ng damit) in a factory at EPZA. She worked Monday to Saturday from 7am to 10pm. If she's given a chance to take a Sunday work, she'll always go for it. She always insisted to take every opportunity to work so she can bring food to the table, pay utility expenses, and even send us to school. Many in our community admire her strong-will to raise us three. Though she's always busy, I believe she’s at her happiest when talking and bonding with her friends and family.

Everything is okay until last October 2018, we've noticed a sudden change with my mother's mood. Later that month, she mentioned some abnormalities with her menstrual period. At first she tried to ignore it but she got alarmed because she's bleeding for two months already. I saw the fear in her eyes. I know that her mother, my lola, got the same symptoms before and she's afraid that she has the same illness.

We've immediately took her to an OB-Gyne in the nearest hospital in our area. The OB said that it is only hormonal imbalance. So she took medicines to correct her period. We're happy when she said that the bleeding had stopped and it became normal again. Everything went normal. However, by February 2018, she experienced severe pain in her lower abdomen. Her doctor advised her to have an ultrasound. On the result, it appears that she have multiple tumors on her uterus and cervix.

She was then immediately scheduled for a Biopsy. After this, her doctor talked to us the fatal news that my mother has a cervical cancer and it is spreading rapidly. The doctor refer an Oncologist. After two weeks, the oncologist said that she need to undergo an operation because the tumors has already occupied 3/4 of her uterus and cervix. Last March 2019, she underwent to operation which took all her internal reproductive organ.

On May 2019, she suffered Sepsis after taking off her catheter. We panicked seeing her eyes turned yellow. We immediately rushed her to her doctor. Another set of medicine has been given to her. This time, radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments were needed to help make sure that the tumor would not grow back and affected her other internal organs.

Her doctor advised her not to work for now, so Mama is currently at home, resting, while we’re raising funds for her treatments. She’s doing fine, improvement has been visible to her now. She’s also eating healthy to prepare her body for the chemotherapy treatments.

Yet, the truth of surviving this ordeal, is that it requires huge amounts of money for radiotherapy, chemotherapy treatments, medicines, and lab tests. We hope to tell her that through this campaign, we won't only receive monetary donations, but most importantly, sincere prayers from warm hearts like yours. We hope to tell her that we reached the right people, who will help her on her new journey. We hope to tell her that she doesn't need to worry about us, her daughters, and we're also fighting with her throughout this phase on her life.

We hope to tell her that "Everyone is here for you, even people you don’t know."

How You Can Help?

Donations in any amount would make a significant difference. All funds raised will immediately help to cover the costs of her radiotherapy (5 times a week), chemotherapy (weekly), medicines, and lab tests.

We would also appreciate your efforts in spreading the word, about what we're trying to accomplish for Mama Alma.

And of course, your prayers, and any messages of support, will also be met with our gratitude. Cancer is as much a fight against despair, as it is a fight against disease. Your expressions of solidarity with Mama Alma would do a lot to lift her spirits, and keep her courage high.

Any way you choose to help, please know that we can never be grateful enough for your assistance. We will always remember your choice to walk this path with us.
