Tuesday, August 1st was our 8th Anniversary and Wednesday, August 2nd I lost my love. I feel so empty and numb.

Allan "Vampiro" Collazo, age 40, of Providence, RI, passed away on August 2, 2017 at home after fighting a long, terrible battle of addiction.

He was born in Puerto Rico on September 17, 1976 with a heart of gold! His beloved companion in life was Maria E. Acevedo.

Allan worked in construction as a roofer, and worked as an independent contractor though he should have been a chef. You would always find him in the kitchen at home; he would have fed the world if he could.

He was giving, kind, and a wonderful man whose presence was felt by all he ever met. He willingly embraced everyone, shared his story and was quick to lend a hand to all who were struggling with addiction. Allan had the best laugh and a smile like no other, he brought light and love everywhere. He would do anything for anyone and was loved by all.

Besides Maria, Allan is survived by his brother and sister, 5 nieces, a grand niece and 5 grand nephews. Loving step-father and mostly he was "Tickle me grampa"to his grandson that was the light of his life and loved him immensely.

A viewing was held on August 6 at the Jones-Walton-Sheridan funeral home in Cranston for family and friends. He was to be buried in Puerto Rico but instead was cremated. There will be a memorial service held on his birthday September 17, 2017 in Providence.

He loved his family as best as he could, we love him and miss him more than words could ever express.

  • This breaks my heart! There are no words that will ease your heart but I hope you know you have people in your corner. Although I do not know you personally, I do know what a kind, sweet, and loving friend you are to my sister. I am so sorry for your loss.
