The Journey
In the next few weeks I will be registering for a teacher training program at Urban Yoga in Phoenix. The registration fee is $500 and I will be able to put that on my credit card (not ideal but it will work). The final cost of the program itself is $2850. I won't be able to finalize my actual certification until I'm paid in full. I am registering no matter what because I have faith that the funds will come. That's where you come in! I am giving you the opportunity to help me in this stage of my life so that I can get certified as a yoga instructor and help others through the power of yoga.
The Sharing
In addition to being a form of fitness, yoga is also very healing. There is a strong mind, body, spirit connection in the practice of yoga. I will be learning about the healing aspects of yoga and learn how to work with cancer patients and the elderly as well as healthy student athletes. On a personal level I would like to work with abused children and teach them how yoga can help them heal their lives. While I know that I will be doing quite a bit of volunteer work with my yoga (I already teach a fitness core class to co-workers) I do plan to teach yoga as an extra sorce of income after becoming certified. I would love yoga to be my main sorce of income in the long term but only time will tell if that is a realistic goal.
The Belief
I believe that this is a calling for me. I am excited that my life has brought me to this point and that I can see something in my future that is not only good for me but also good for others in my community. It will give me an opportunity to help others while also doing something beautiful for myself.

1 class - one hour of yoga instruction after I receive my certification. This can either be a personal, one on one session or a class of up to 10 students. Update posted by Aliza at 11:02 pmWell, it's official! I registered for the teacher training program at Urban Yoga last Friday. Five hundrend dollars down, thanks to my credit card and $2350 to go. The program starts on November 3rd and I am SO EXCITED! Every day is beautiful, even the bad days and I'm not. . . . .

Thank you so much Cathrine!! I'm not so sure I'll be able to raise a lot of money with this but every little bit I do raise is that much more than I had before. I'm sure it will all work out some how. You've gotten me off to a good start! If you ever make it to Phoenix I'll do a yoga practice with you and all your travel companions.
