Hello Everyone!
I would like to thank you for taking the time to take a look around this site. As you may know, I am moving to Los Angeles in August 2013 to begin graduate studies at USC's Keck School of Medicine. I will be enrolled in the Master of Public Health (MPH) program with a concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. After completing the MPH program, my aspiration is to continue to medical school. The dream I'm pursuing is to be a medical doctor. My specialization is still up for debate, but my main areas of interest/speciality are Neonatology and Immunology.
As you know, all this "book learning" is expensive! I'm doing everything I can to find grants and scholarships to help pay for my education and reduce my loan burden. My mom and I are also reselling lots of stuff to generate money to help pay for my books and cover some living expenses. Finally, I'm hoping to secure a clinical research job the second year in grad school (and maybe the second semester of the first year depending on how things are going). But for at least the first semester I want to focus on school exclusively to make sure that I get off to a good start.
Several friends and family have expressed a desire to help me achieve my dream of becoming a doctor. I have established this fundraiser as a way for everyone who is able and wishes to donate funds towards completion of my education to have a centralized and easy method to help. ANY amount, no matter the small, is extremely helpful when it comes to covering books, tuition, and everyday living expenses.

Update posted by Alicia Clausel at 09:58 amI have secured housing. I wanted to live close to campus. My mom and I were looking at possible apartments for me to rent. But, we decided it'd probably be best to just stay on campus for the first year. That will keep me near school and give me a. . . . .
It's official: My enrollment packet
Update posted by Alicia Clausel at 09:42 amHooray! My enrollment packet from USC finally arrived. I officially accepted the offer and now have my USC ID number and email address. Funny enough, my email name is the same at USC as it was at UW-Madison. I can now enroll in classes but I'm waiting for them to. . . . .
