Anyone that knows me, knows that I am not the running type, but on 7th October 2018, I will be taking part in the Tirana 10k. My aim is to put myself through severe mental, physical, sweaty, and emotional duress to raise money for two charities I feel passionately about. The first is STREHA- they provide shelter, support, and ancillary services to LGBTIQ individuals in Albania who have been abused and found themselves destitute. LGBTIQ individuals in Albania often suffer serious discrimination and STREHA offer essential medical, social, and psychological support as well as accommodation and vocational training to these individuals. The second charity is Useful to Albanian Women which is run by Sevim Arbana. They provide care and support to women and children that are surviving domestic abuse. Some of these families live on $30 a month, just let that sink in.
Donate some cash, be happy in the thought that I will be in extreme discomfort for a couple of hours, and know that your money is going directly to help some of societies most vulnerable.
