This is my father, Alfredo Belmonte, a 84-year old man, with great will power and faith in God. He met a vehicular accident more than 5 decades ago. He had a major brain operation, part of his skull was removed and fortunately, after several weeks, he was awaken and was able to recover and go home. Unfortunately, this accident led him to be semi-paralyzed, unable to walk freely as a normal person.
Last January, he had a serious head trauma, the worst of his eleven falls from last year. While walking down our stairs, he lost his balance and fell on the ground, suffering head trauma, several stitches on his head and mild seizure.
Although he already fell several times, it was the Lord's grace that he is still alive and trying to enjoy the life God has given Him despite the difficulties that old age has. But just this year, after recovering from his fall, we discovered that he has an INGUINAL HERNIA, a condition in which part of his intestine is displaced and protrudes through a weak spot in the abdominal muscles, causing pain and uncomfortable feeling. If not treated by operation, this can lead to an incarcerated hernia which may cut off blood flow to part of the intestine. Strangulation can lead to the death of the affected bowel tissue which can be life-threatening and cause serious complications. Although this can be considered as a minor surgery, but at his old age, conducting medical operation can be risky, but we choose him to undergo this surgery instead of suffering serious complications if not treated soon.
I, Jake Belmonte, together with my whole family are asking for your prayers and financial support for all the medical expenses we will incur for this operation plus the post-operation expenses that we will have. He has several medications for his blood pressure, seizure, and chronic cough.
He is scheduled to undergo Hernia Operation on August 22, 2018 at The Medical City in Pasig.
We believe that faith can move mountains and healing will soon be upon him. Help us in praying for the success of his operation and on raising funds for it.
- Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1)
In His grace,
