Alfie Butler was diagnosed with a Grade 3 Ependymoma Brain Tumour in Feb 2015, he was just 8 months old.
During the last 17 months Alfie has had 2 major operations to remove his tumour (over 23 hours), endured 8 months of chemotherapy at Southampton General Hospital and spent 9 weeks in America having proton beam therapy. He has had many complications since surgery but continues to fight everyday.
In May 2016 he had his first clear scan and continues to have MRI's every 3 months to check the tumour hasn't grown back. His next MRI is 18th July 2016.
Alfie's golf day has been set up to raise money this year for The Brain Tumour Charity and Southampton Hospital Piam Brown (children's cancer ward where Alfie spent most of last year receiving treatment).
All money raised will be shared between the two charities to help other families in the future affected by cancer and Brain tumours.
