Dear animal lovers,

This campaign was created to try and keep alive the NGO “Alfa”, which has for years dedicated its resources, time and energy to helping and saving abandoned, injured, hungry and pretty much all other categories of street animals in Belgrade, but also throughout the whole country and region.

The organization is facing shut-down, due to the fact it has fallen in debt towards shelters, vet clinics, food suppliers, etc. because simply, the amount of donations coming in is too small to cover even a tiny percentage of the costs of medical bills, food and shelter for their rescued animals.

The organization is run by just a couple of animal enthusiasts, trying to provide a chance at life to our “best friends” on whom, ironically, everyone has turned their back. Without the special individuals who run organizations like these most of these animals would be sick, starving and often dead on the streets.

The organization is a non-profit, so all donations in money, food, medication go directly to the animals in need.

Please help us reach our fundraising goal for the payment of existing expenditures, so that “Alfa” can continue with its work. However, this is an ongoing process and any excess funds will be extremely useful in the future of the organization, or for further dissemination to other similar NGOs, as there are many who need help.

The before and after photos as well as short descriptions of their stories can be found on the organization website. Aside from caring and working to adopt their own rescues, the organization also helps another dog shelter with over 50 rescues at any given time, as much as they can.

In this case, no amount of donation is too small, it's not just a phrase. Let's help our furry friends, who cannot help themselves. :)

The work of the Citizens association„ALFA“ is based primarily on taking care of sick, hurt, as well as healthy abandoned animals and on finding them forever homes with suitable, loving owners. Their work also includes taking necessary legal measures against all unconscientious owners and others who are commiting criminal and misdemeanor offences, with the intent to harm the life or well being of an animal, as well as spreading awareness about mistreatment and on the other hand respectfull treatment of animals.
