Alexandra Township Party Venue

I have 2 little girls who are lucky enough to have great parties, whether it be at our house or at a party venue. The amount of money people have to spend on a venue does not seem to be practical to those parents who earn very little. Venues are in excess of R2, 500 ($180) for 3 hours, excluding the cake and snacks, goodie bags and catering for the adults... Including everything it could easily reach the R7k ($370) or R10k ($750) mark!

We have a house in Kew, Johannesburg, walking distance to Alexander Township that can be used as an affordable kiddies party venue at a reasonable price of R500 ($36) from 9 til 1pm or 2.30 til 5.30pm with a 30min period before and after to set up and clean up. Mommies and daddies, grandmas too can bring their home made snacks, homemade cakes etc. and set up at the tables that we would hopefully provide. With a drum available for the adults to braai whilst the kiddies play.... A large enough area for everyone to have a great time.

Of course there needs to be things for little boys and girls to do (Swings, slides, etc.), there is a pool which needs to be maintained, we would like to get sand pits and make the garden lovely as any little boy or girl deserves on their special day, and sourcing and purchasing those things means the rate would increase - which negates the affordability I am trying to achieve.

Once our target is reached we will pay the venue fee for each R4, 000 ($300) donated. So, once a month for 20 months 1 lucky Kiddie will have extra money to buy extra sweeties for their friends goodie bags :-) We are hoping the success will enable us to spread the goodwill into the community and assist with all the upliftment projects happening in the Township.
