Dear friends,

With the end of the year and the holiday period approaching, so does the yearly social initiative that Paul and I started after the Beirut port explosion, in December 2020, in the name of our daughter Alexandra, killed by the criminal blast. We truly hope that you can support us as greatly as you did in the past editions and help us spread the word - the situation keeps worsening every day. With increasing poverty, unemployment, and blocked deposits, so many people can’t afford the most basic necessities.

Alexandra’s initiative this year is under the theme of solidarity. It is only through the solidarity of our people that Beirut was rebuilt after the blast. That our homes and streets were cleaned and made habitable again. Volunteers united from all across the country and the world, and we believe that true change and salvation will come only through solidarity and our sense of civic responsibilities towards one another.

Solidarity during this period of year means first that families should share a proper meal. So your help is much needed! And here’s how you can contribute:

* Donate funds through this campaign, so we can purchase hot meals from our social kitchens partners (DM us for more information)

* Cook the largest amount of possible quantities of rezz 3a djej or moghrabiye . This year, you can also purchase recipe packs that contain all produce needed for the meal! All produce will be sourced directly from producers, and expect cooking instructions from food influencers :)

* Volunteer on the day of the event and help us wrap gifts, cook, transport, and distribute the meals!

Should we manage to secure the funds for meals, every additional dollar will be used to fund a sustainable project, as we have to help people in need to transition to self-sufficiency. Priorities will be food safety of course, but also access to education and employment. To give a few examples, we are exploring vertical farming in schools, solar installations in schools in exchange of free tuitions, and food-related training for women to access employment in social kitchens and associations.

As we are 12 days to deadline, please reach out directly to me or Paul by DM on social media should you need clarifications, and tell us how you can support! We count on you to share this post as much as possible so that we maximize reach!

Last year’s experience was fantastic. Together, we managed to distribute 14,000+ meals to families in need (2.5 times the first edition), offer 2,500+ gifts and toys to children, group 100+ volunteers who worked together to make it happen, and raised enough funds to pursue initiatives over the course of 2022! I hope we can do better this year, and that you can be part of it!

Wishing you all the best,

Tracy and Paul
