What Is This? Who Are You?

This is the start of a journey and I am Feras Arrabi. I need your support to release my solo guitar album “Al Arrabi,” a one of its kind in the Arab region.

After many years of hustling between playing live gigs and touring with different bands, Covid-19 has unfortunately, as with many others, changed my routine drastically. However it has given me the opportunity to work on my solo album, which is something I've always wanted to do, and for that: I am grateful.

Al Arrabi album is a journey of 7000 steps, where every step is worth $1 and I can't wait to embark it with you!

Al Arrabi is an instrumental guitar album consisting of 10 tracks. It is a compilation of my mental and spiritual journeys; each track takes you through a story, revolved mainly around thoughts provoked by fear, curiosity and profound existential beliefs.

After recording a demo version of the album in my bedroom, friends and musicians I know took to the project positively, and as a result, it began to take a life of its own. It is now at a point where I can no longer sustain this project by myself. This is where YOU come in!

Your support will be covering the album’s recording, mixing and mastering, design and the production costs of the album as well as this very campaign 😊.

Al Arrabi album has 10 tracks; they are an accumulation of my journeys since 2011. The following will give you a hint about the state of mind you’ll find yourself in while listening to it:

On a journey, there are many temptations to take the shortcut. However, if you ever take the long way, you'll find yourself reaching your goal truly different than how you started. Along that way you meet companions who, at darkest times, can lift your spirit and give you a sense of security. Caught in a world diverse in technologies, but yet misused by fiendish figures. Able to reach the edge of space and restore your lost faith in something greater. This and more is what you can come to expect.

You will find at least one melody, rhythm or harmony that speaks to you directly in Al Arrabi album… This is a promise.

Let Me Tell You More About Myself...

I am a Jordanian musician based in Amman, Jordan. I was born in 1991 in Kuwait, then moved to Jordan when I was 18 years old to pursue my BA degree in Management Information Systems. I am a self-taught musician and music composer, and this is my passion in life.

When I was 13 years old, I picked up the guitar for the first time. It was an old broken guitar that belonged to my father when he was younger. I decided to give it the maintenance it needed, and for the first time in my family, this neglected instrument changed my life forever.

My music is influenced by not only Middle Eastern but also music of other cultures, which I was exposed to in my journey as a guitar player. My compositions mainly fall under fusion and progressive rock/metal.

After moving to Jordan, I met many musicians and performed with many bands up until 2011, when I met my current colleague musicians of Albaitil Ashwai band. We decided together to form a self-styled “Neo-Sufism” band that combines local inspirations with rock arrangements. In 2018 I also joined El Morabba3 collective project and have been their guitarist since then.

I am also a session musician for various projects and have plenty of experience in recording and producing live musical events.

Since the beginning of my professional career in 2014, I have performed in the MENA region (Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt) and in Europe.

When is the album going to be released?

It is expected to be released in mid March 2021.

How do you plan to sustain yourself after this album is released?

I have decided to be dedicated to music since 2014. I will work on distributing this album well, so I can work on the next project. Meanwhile, I am a guitar tutor, and I’ll be looking forward to going live on stage again, hopefully soon.
