Suntem un grup de 27 de elevi de liceu din Brasov, castigatori ai concursului international 2018 NASA Ames Space Settlement Design Contest, si avem nevoie de ajutorul vostru sa mergem sa ne ridicam premiile.

Salutare tuturor! S-a spus ca generatia noastra este nascuta prea tarziu sa exploreze Planeta Pamant si prea devreme sa exploreze spatiul cosmic. Dar, mai este adevarat?

Pentru unii din noi totul a inceput cu o ora de fizica la scoala si s-a transformat intr-o pasiune cand am descoperit astrofizica. Pasiunea a dus la munca multa si dedicarea noastra a fost rasplatita cand am castigat numeroase premii concurand cu puternice echipe de studenti internationali din SUA, Canada, Europa, Asia, si multe alte tari.

Am inscris 15 proiecte in competitia mondiala din 2018, am castigat 5 premii si 10 mentiuni de omoare, si acum suntem invitati la conferinta IDSC 2018 (International Space Development Conference) care va avea loc in Los Angeles la sfasritul lunii Mai. http://isdc2018.nss.org/

ISDC 2018 este sansa noastra sa cunoastem si sa invatam de la angajati NASA, oameni de stiinta experti in domeniul lor, oameni care si-au dedicat viata evolutiei si progresului, dar din pacate niciunul dintre noi nu isi poate permite costurile de transport si cazare. Costurile sunt in jur de 2000€/persoana.

Nu oricine in Romania din zilele noastre isi poate permite sa sprijine o asemenea actiune de reprezentare, cu toate sansele ei de reusita. Apelam astfel la puterea colectiva pentru a ridica din presiunea individuala.

Scopul nostru este sa transformam in realitate visurile colective de a calatori si locui in spatiu. Suntem mai aproape de acest lucru cu fiecare zi ce trece. Colonizarea planetelor indepartate nu mai este demult doar un vis distant dar proiectele la care noi am lucrat sunt inca departe de a deveni realitate. Pentru asta avem nevoie de experienta si de accesul la informatii.

Stim ca performantele noastre au fost recunoscute si contam pe sprijinul dumneavoastra pentru a merge sa ne ridicam premiile.

Buget
Un buget estimat, pentru a acoperi costurile de transport si de cazare timp de o saptamana:

• Bilete de avion - 1000 €/elev – TOTAL – 27000 €
• 7 nopti camera de hotel - 700 €/elev – TOTAL – 18900 €

TOTAL pentru 27 de elevi – 45900 €

Elevii vor fi acompaniati, conform cerintelor legale, de trei profesori.

Exceptional Youth on a mission to populate space.

It has been said that our generation was born too late to explore Planet Earth and too early to explore cosmic space. But is that still true?

We are a group of 27 Romanian high school students from Brasov, winners of the international 2018 NASA Ames Space Settlement Design Contest, and we need your help to go claim our prizes.

It started with a school physics class that developed into a passion as we discovered astrophysics. Passion turned to hard work and then our dedication was rewarded when we won numerous prizes competing against strong international student teams from the US, Canada, Europe, Asia, and many more.

We entered 15 projects in the international competition in 2018, winning 5 prizes and 10 honorable mentions, and we are now invited guests for the ISDC 2018 (International Space Development Conference) taking place in Los Angeles at the end of May. http://isdc2018.nss.org/

ISDC 2018 is our chance to meet and learn from NSS experts, leading scientists in their fields, people that dedicate their lives to evolution and progress, but unfortunately none of us can afford the travel and living expenses in order to honor our invitation and claim our prizes. The costs are around 2000 €/person.

We know that this is a large sum of money and that not everyone can support us so we decided to send our message to a large collective. Seeing how a small step has turned into a giant leap we are hoping that some of you make that small step and donate to help us reach our goal.

Our goal is to make space travel and living real. We are closer to making this happen, colonization of other planets is no longer just a distant dream. The projects we worked on are among the first steps on a road that could lead to humanity’s exploration of space but they are far from being made real. For this we need experience and the access to information.

We think that our performance and scientific research is acknowledged and we hope for your support in getting all of us closer to the stars.

Budget
An estimated budget, to cover transportation and accommodations for one week:

• Plane tickets - 1000 €/student – TOTAL – 27000 €
• 7 nights hotel room - 700 €/student – TOTAL – 18900 €

TOTAL for 27 students – 45900 €
The students will be accompanied, as are the legal requirements, by three teachers.
