AJ’s Badger Army

Update posted by A Cartwright On Oct 15, 2015

well it's over for another year, we kept a presence in the cull zone for the full 6 weeks, we purchased radios with the money you gave us, we hope next year to purchase a lot more radios as they turned out to be invaluable. I personally cannot thank you enough, we had comments of 'we felt so safe in your team' we want that safety to spread across all areasand across all sabs and wounded badger patrol . One night while being driven at several times pro cullers the radios were our only means to contact the outside world and get a police presence, at others times they enabled effective sabbing, stopping us chasing our own tales and cooridnating searches and removal of hunters. From all at AJAH we thank you .

We have had a presence running one of the zones within one of the cull zones now since the night it started, stopping shooters on 2 occasions already, these are the face to face confrontations not the times shooters turn up see us then decided to move on without us knowing... we have bought new radios for our colleagues enabling them to keep in touch better which means they are both more effective and safer. The dream of thermal imaging gear is just that, a dream for us at AJs, without the help of the bigger better supported organisations we will always struggle.. but our badgers are as important as others and we will make do with what equipment we have. Thanks for your support.

Thanks for helping us break the 50 percent barrier we have been stuck on for what seemed an age, don't forget if you can get involved in the cull zone we really need you there , there are jobs for everyone and no pressure, contrary to the utter tosh you may have read in the a certain Daily rag, you will not meet a nicer bunch of caring, peaceful folk. If you can't get there then add to this fundraiser and we will do our best to make your efforts rewarding to the badgers.

We head back down to do the 200 mile round trip to the cull zone again Tomorrow. Constant monitoring of badger setts on our patch is what it's all about, check then check again for disturbance of any kind, this is self funded, this go fund me is for us to help others in our zone to get the equipment we feel is useful, please help if you can , even a pound.
