The project - what is it all about?

 

Having worked for a few ski seasons in the French Alps, we fell in love with the mountains and skiing opportunities in the Three Valleys (considered to be the largest linked skiing area in the world). That's why we have come up with the idea of staying in here and helping other skiers to enjoy the unique alpine ski holiday experience. To achieve this goal, we are planning to set up an airport and ski transfer company that could bring all the fresh ''powder fanatics'' to the vast skiing areas of the Rhone Alpes.

 

 

The main goal is to offer competitively priced private door-to-door transfers from surrounding airports of Geneva, Lyon, Grenoble and Chambery to all major ski resorts in the Three Valleys (Courchevel, Meribel, Val Thorens, Les Menuires, Saint Martin de Belleville, La Tania, Bridge les Bains, etc.), Espace Killy (Val d'Isere, Tignes) and Paradiski (Les Arcs, La Plagne, etc.). Transfers will be operated using 8-seater minivans (like VW Caravelle 4x4) as travelling by minivan is the easiest, most convenient and most efficient way to get from the airport to the ski resort, especially when you travel with loads of luggage, ski & snowboard bags, boots, etc. And it doesn't have to be very expensive, particularly if you go on holiday as a small group (we could take up to 8 passengers in one van).

We have got the business ''know-how'' as we have worked for local transfer companies for a few years therefore we gained necessary experience, skills, connections and knowledge needed to succeed. We are aware of all the legal requirements, regulations and license we need to get. We believe we could offer more affordable transfers from the airports to ski resorts which could be an alternative option to already operating more expensive transfer companies. Unfortunately, having the whole ''know-how'' is sometimes not enough to make it happen....

By supporting this campaign you will not only change lives of a few seasonnaires working in France but also help all other skiers to get an affordable and comfortable way to travel from the airport to their ski resort. We have been waiting for this opportunity for a long time. Now, with your help, we're hoping to achieve the goals we have set.

 

 

So here's the deal... 

 

Basically, we are seeking to raise at least £15 000 to be able to get a van (VW Caravelle 4x4 as it's essential to have a good and reliable vehicle in the hazardous mountain conditions) and cover start-up costs (company registration and license fees, car registration, insurance, social charges, office space rent, etc.).

We would also like to create a professional webste for the new company with an online booking system to allow our clients to book their transfer online using credit card or secure their booking by card and pay cash on arrival. Another part of the IT software solutions we aim to get is a powerful booking management system that could help us with scheduling, invoicing, sending automated confirmations and reminders of transfers, etc.

Please note this is a year-round project as we need time to prepare everything during this year so that we're up and running for this forthcoming winter of 2014/15. Ideally, we would need to raise around £25-30k which could help us to go through the hardest period at the begining of activity so we're planning to do some follow ups after the end of this campaign hoping that with your help we will be able to not only achieve but exceed our funding goal. However, please bear in mind that in this project every pound/dollar/euro counts and can support the company set up.
