Airplane ticket to get to work

I have a great work offer at a university in Beijing as a Professor, but the airplane ticket is more expensive than I thought it would be, $1,200. I have been able to save $400 the past couple months since I started interviewing for a better job and need another $800 to make it happen.

I have long dreamed of seeing the Far East and being able to live there and work there to see what it’s like. The job offer is excellent, the pay is good plus a free fully furnished apartment in exchange for teaching English as a Foreign Language 18 hours a week at one of the top universities on Earth. After a year of work, there is also reimbursement (up to $1,500) for the plane ticket. I want to work.

After graduating from NYU, then from Columbia University with a Master’s (in 2003), I have taught English as a Foreign Language in the Middle East and Latin America. I love what I do, even though the pay’s been modest. When I taught in the Middle East, I had been backpacking through Europe, so the airfare was inexpensive (I backpacked on to Turkey, took a ferry to Cyprus and then a short inexpensive airplane flight from there to the Middle East). More recently, I went to teach in Ecuador and I had a few months to save $600 for the flight from New York.

I have to say, the offer and contract I have from the university in Beijing is one of the best job offers I have ever had, I want to work and really want to get there in time. Please help. If you can contribute $5 then contribute $5. If you can contribute $50 then please contribute $50. Every amount helps. I could pay back the money after a month of work (end of September). I can also teach online (e.g. English as a Foreign Language, TOEFL prep, IELTS prep, GRE prep, GMAT prep, MCAT prep, USMLE prep).
