According to the study, 9 million people around the world lost their lives in 2015 due to various types of pollution. Bangladesh has lost the most number of lives. Air pollution is the leading cause of two-thirds of deaths due to pollution. The University of British Columbia's Health Effects Institute and the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation recently published a report entitled 'The State of Global Air 2019' on the risks of global air pollution.

According to the report, Bangladesh is one of the five countries in the world where 100% of the people live in polluted air. And in terms of the number of deaths due to air pollution, Bangladesh ranks fifth in the world.
Among the major cities of the world, the amount of air pollution in Dhaka is increasing. As soon as you go out on the streets, dust is entering your nose and mouth. This information is being obtained from the observations of Air Visual, a US-based organization that monitors the world's air quality.
In 2016, the Norwegian Institute of Air Research published a survey report on the sources and types of air pollution in Dhaka under the Department of Environment's Clean Air and Sustainable Environment Project. According to the survey, about 1,000 brick kilns were set up around Dhaka in November, accounting for 58 per cent of air pollution.

From September to February, infrastructure construction and repair work is also in full swing, which is fatally responsible for dust pollution. The presence of large amounts of dust, floating particles, carbon dioxide or carbon monoxide in the air is contributing to the increase in temperature in the surrounding region.

In the air of Dhaka, the standard for tiny particles or 'PM2.5' is 15 micrograms per cubic meter. In addition, the standard for ‘PM 10’ or tiny particles is 50 micrograms. In 2015, PM2.5 averaged 61 micrograms throughout the year and in 2016 it was 8 micrograms. The average PM10 was found to be 146 micrograms in 2015 and 156 micrograms in 2016. Cadmium levels were found to be 200 times higher than normal.

Studies have shown that the levels of lead and nickel in road dust in Dhaka are more than double. Heavy metal lead can cause heart disease and cancer. It can disable the human respiratory system. Maternity can also be a cause of danger. We are already familiar with arsenic poisoning. Its mixing occurs especially in groundwater.

How dangerous it is to breathe in the air of Dhaka. According to the study, 11 percent of the total population living in Dhaka is suffering from air pollution related diseases. Of these, 6 percent suffer from respiratory diseases. In addition, it is not a direct cause of air pollution, 6 percent suffer from cardiac problems, and the rate of cancer is 1.3 percent. Air pollution indirectly helps to control these two diseases.
The concentration of fine particles in the air inside the building is higher than the safe level set by the World Health Organization, which reduces the efficiency of the lungs by inhaling the body of the occupants of the house. The source of the pollution is said to be 42 percent of the outside polluted air enters the house. At the same time, pollutants from indoor garbage, detergents, cooking and toilets are also added to the air.

Pollution of air, water and work environment and heavy metal lead on children is causing an annual loss of about BDT 42,000 core, which is about 2.8 per cent of the country's gross domestic product (GDP).

Realizing such a dire situation, we have started decontaminating the city of Dhaka.

Realizing such a dire situation, we have started decontaminating the city of Dhaka. There are about 2 million empty roofs in Dhaka city. If these roofs are properly used and planted on abandoned land, it is possible to reduce air pollution in the city by 30%.

With these fears in mind, Dhaka Plants has taken the following initiatives,
1. I will conduct a tree planting campaign on the roof of the city house.2. I will distribute free trees among the residents of the city.
3. Trees will be planted hanging along the city’s foot-over-bridge.
4. Environmental floating trees will be planted along the city roads.
5. There are trees in the city at present, I will take care of those trees and irrigate them regularly.
6. I will deliver one tree to each table working in and out of the city so that they get pure oxygen.
7. Our skilled team members will continue to get any service from the planter.
8. Tree planting campaigns will be conducted all over the city every 1 month.
9. Explain the need to plant trees among school, college, university students and distribute free trees.
10. The house will reach home, the tree expert-tree doctor.
11. To promote the need for greenery in all Dhaka cities on a large scale.
12. I will accept the waste of the city and give the tree as a gift in return.
13. 100 people will be employed in the new initial stage.
14. On public and private office tables, trees will be placed next to the tables so that the eyes can rest, thus increasing performance.
15. I will produce soilless crops i.e. I will launch a project to double crop production in this city by hydrophonics method.
16. I will reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and promote the use of organic fertilizers.
17. There will be tree maintenance in the city, tree ambulance.
18. The city collects garbage from house to house; in return I will give gifts of various flowers and fruit trees.
I would like to request you to build a prosperous green city with your full cooperation and help.

With your help, a city in the heart of the world can be filled with greenery.

ssWe are committed to the promise of "Building Dhaka as a Green City".
