Aigerim’s Educational Exchange Program

My name's Aigerim Muratbekova. I'm an International and Comparative Politics junior student of the American University of Central Asia. I'm partly under scholarship. AUCA is a university which gives opportunities to study not only for students who can afford their studies but also for those who cannot. And my family is very happy that despite our financial situation I can study in one of the best universities in Central Asia.

I am taking up International and Comparative Politics with the intention of being a catalyst in my society. It has been my dream ever since to be a part of an organization that is greatly involved in helping children who are less fortunate. I think that every child should be given an opportunity to have a better life despite his/her financial situation and background. Most of the time children from poor families have less opportunities to study and they lose hope and give up on their dreams. I believe if we focus on training them, sowing right values in their hearts and giving them hope, then it will cause a change in our society. My desire is to see poor children’s lives changed by empowering their dreams. Through them, I envision lives of families and communities being transformed.

Fortunately, I am one step closer to my vision as I am privileged to be selected as an exchange student to Kansai University in Japan for spring semester 2018. I believe that being an exchange student there will widen my scope of view and give me an incredible opportunity to further enhance my knowledge about world politics and international relations. It will broaden my perspective about what’s happening inside and outside my society. And it will help me fulfill my dream to help more poor children, especially in my country, Kyrgyzstan.

I am presently developing a team of people who will be committed to partner with me to be able to help fulfill my vision by sending me to Kansai University for an academic semester. I am raising $4850 for my airfare, dormitory accommodations, food and transportation allowance during my stay in Japan from March till July.
