Please take a moment to consider this!

Imagine you are sitting in a freezing cold tent right now, your clothes are damp and all you could do to stay warm is to huddle up to a loved one, if your loved ones hasn’t already perished. You are surrounded by hundreds of other tents, and all you can hear the cries sick of children. Your cherished belongings are gone, because your home has become a war zone, and there was no choice but to run for your life. But so far, there is no light at the end of the tunnel, no future, all you can do today is take one day at time and pray for whatever help, is available.

I hope this will never happen to you, but it is happening to thousands of people right now. Refugees and immigrants, who were once living normal happy lives just like you and me are living in freezing tents, facing a harsh winter with very little help. People are very sick and some are dying and The World Health Organisation has recently announced that this situation has reached crisis point.

Of course, not everyone can get on a plane and roll up their sleeves to help. But sitting at home in the comfort of your home, just feeling pity won’t help them either. But, you CAN help me and a team of medics make a small difference to these people and even save lives.

As a child, I used to pray to my mini worry dolls each night, keeping them under my pillow, asking each one for World Peace. I had been so disturbed by the Oxfam appeals on television, I knew that I had to do something when I grew up. I trained as a nurse and went on to qualify as a Naturopath. So now, I’m wholeheartedly determined and invested in helping in a quest for peace with EVERYTHING that I do.

Next month, I fly to the tiny island of Chios in Greece, for a 30 day medicine and medical aid mission. I will be working with a team of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, naturopaths and nutritionists. I am so nervous, that when I think of the enormity of the situation my palms start to sweat. But, I feel I have no choice, despite what you may have read in the media, I am informed that very little is being done. I believe we all have a duty as a human being to help our fellow beings who less fortunate. I just can’t sit back and let this tragedy happen, can you?

So as Naturopath, what can I do to help?

Plenty!

Just one course of the correct strain of probiotics can stop a child dying from gastro enteritis and prevent chronic disease.

A few drops daily of anti-parasitic herbal medicine will prevent diarrhoea, that is deadly to those who are malnourished.

I can provide tools to strengthen the immune system through safe medicines. Nutritious food and safe water is a fundamental human right and needed now and will I will be endeavouring to implement these needs.

  • With the rest of the team, I will be taking charge of the collection and distribution of herbal and nutritional medicine.
  • Also probiotics and anti-microbials for infection control.
  • Plus herbal medicines for respiratory tract infections and gastroenteritis.
  • We will be establishing direct lines of aid between medical companies and doctors/naturopaths for continued support after my short placement.
  • We can help to support malnourished pregnant women, and we will be making sure they have the nutrition and care that they desperately need.
  • Daily will be providing first aid and health checks for incoming refugees.
  • Along side this, we will educate as many families as we can on nutrition and implementing a long-term plan.

My naturopathic involvement allows the rest of the medical team to get on with their job of providing much needed medical assistance, ensuring the best possible backup. I am so honoured to be working together in this spirit of collaboration to make a REAL difference, long term.

How much do I need?

I urgently need £2000 to help over 1000 families in this 30 day medicine and education project. Of course, if we are blessed to be gifted more, the funds will be used to buy more medicines for more projects.

How can you help?

Please donate whatever you can. No matter how small the donation, please know that I will be deeply grateful. Please follow the links on this page, and if you wish, you can remain anonymous.

Raise awareness! Record just a 4 second video stating your name and country, and tag it on the “#IncreasethePeaceNOW” Facebook page. You will become part of a global petition, aimed at all governments to sit up and take notice. We will be showing your videos to all the refugees we meet. Let them know you care.

Seek out and help refugees in your area. Welcome them into your community, and consider ways in which you can all help them. Think integration and learn from their culture, through your education system, your social networks, embrace change.

In return, I can promise you a feeling of satisfaction and reward knowing that, YOU have helped to bring aid to many who so desperately need it and most importantly saved lives.

As a humanitarian, you are helping in the solution of this global separation and part of a bigger goal, for a better world.

Just for the price of your morning coffee, you save a child's life from chronic disease! I will be making sure of it!

Thank you for reading and thank you very much for helping.
