This Christmas and New Year won’t be a happy celebration for most people who have been badly hit by Typhoon Odette (Rai). Our friends in Negros Occidental region were one of them. They’re both deaf advocates and we are humbly asking for donations to help them get basic necessities and funding to restore their homes and at least have a safe place to stay during the holidays.
Any donations given will be directly to our friends and to the Anawim Foundation for the DEAF. The funds will go to their families in providing the basic needs.
If you do not have PayPal, here are our other donation streams:
GCash - 09055591752, Justine Rianne D.
PayMaya - 09289811787, Justine Rianne D.
BPI - 1899 6668 24, Justine Rianne Diza
Our two friends are Francis Steve Tam and Rowena Bolido.
Francis Steve Tam, a deaf graduate from De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde, needs your help as they don't have water nor electricity in their area. His home was destroyed and nothing can be salvaged. They are currently staying at their home with no roof. They also do not have access to food or clean drinking water. However, they were able to charge their phones at the gas station and/or at public areas like Jollibee.
Next we have Ms. Rowena Bolido, a hearing person who has a heart for the deaf as well. She has evacuated and is safely at her relative's place in Bacolod. Her family's house in Negros Occidental, particularly in Kabankalan, was completely wiped out. She was able to charge her devices at a gas station.
We will be updating this campaign to show transparency reports of where the funds go as well as updates on how the deaf community are doing as well.
With each donation we give hope to these people who lost their homes and a chance to have their needs met in order to stand up again after this unfortunate event. We appreciate all the help we can get. Let’s show everyone the true meaning of Christmas by giving to those who need it most.
