Aid for Tito Ronnie

I’ve set up this fundraiser in hopes of receiving help for my partner's father

Geronico L. Cruz, better known as Ronnie.

After more than a week of feeling stomach pains only to have it get worse over time regardless of any medications taken, vomiting, arthritis as well as being unable to defecate for more than 5 days, on the late evening of January 19, 2023, with help, from his niece and nephew, he was admitted in Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center at Tanauan City, Batangas.

Tests results showed his sugar level was beyond 300, heart rate above normal and pacing, a tumor was found in his large intestine as well as pockets and blockages resulting an official diagnosis of diverticulitis.

An MRI was highly advised to be able to see more details of his large intestine as well as to see if the tumor was cancerous. Everything came to the result of a colectomy that needs to be done as soon as possible.

He was given insulin shots to lower his sugar level and to hopefully normalize his heart rate followed by arthritis medications, antibiotics for his large intestines and a nasogastric tube to remove the built up liquids in his stomach.

With the high cost of the hospital and a colectomy, Tito Ronnie was given options on other hospitals that could provide affordable costs for the needed colectomy and medications for recovery.

Like many parents, Tito Ronnie is not perfect but what he’s really great at, is being a father to his kids.

He cares a lot about others and at times more than himself though he’d never admit it. He tells wacky jokes to make everyone laugh, dances funny, gives straight forward honest advices in life, love that reaches the stars, care, and company.

Hard times come and go especially financially, but Tito Ronnie did his part and found jobs regardless of the usual arthritis on his feet, knees, elbows and joint pains here and there that comes with age. He continued to work and soon found himself in a kitchen at small restaurant where for the time being he was contented somehow because aside from fishing, cooking food is the next thing he loves doing.

Although facing financial difficulties, I, along with my partner James, Tito Ronnie's eldest son, some friends and family are doing the best we can to find help as well as the funds to pay for Tito Ronnie's needed colectomy and needs moving forward to recovery.
