Refugee Aid - Greece Pallet Shipping Costs
We are currently running 2 appeals for aid which need to be palleted and sent in January 2018. This includes food, clothing and essential baby items for the Hope Cafe in Athens and our annual shoe box appeal - Gift Boxes of Love and Hope which we are sending out to the One Happy Family Community Centre in Lesvos, and we have recently sent 4 pallets of warm blankets and bedding to the Attika Warehouse in Lesvos.
In order for the aid to get there it has to be palleted/labelled and weighed and delivered to Enfield to be shipped to Greece - each pallet costs us approximately £250 + VAT to send depending on the weight. These costs include handling and freight charges, transfer costs to the islands and delivery. We have 4 pallets of aid to ship.
Since October 2015 together with Wadebridge Cornish Refugee Aid Project - Open Hearts Open Border - Refugee Aid has been sending aid out to France and Greece on a regular basis and we intend to continue this in 2018 - so we need you help for the shipping costs. So, far we have filled and sent out 5 40ft containers to Syria and Greece, sent out 12 pallets of aid to Greece, several van loads across to France (Calais and Dunkirk) - we have donated and delivered many items to refugees who have settled across the South West and also delivered items across the country to go via other charities to Syria. All the items that get so generously donated are sorted and the shipped by an amazing group of volunteers from across the South West - they give up their time and love to sort what you donate, so we can get it shipped to where it needs to be.
So, here's what can do to help our achieve our aim... click on the donate button and give a little bit of money towards the cost of shipping. When we give an extraordinary thing happens, so lets give as much as we can so we can ship over the items to help families and children in Greece who are simply real life heroes.
So, lets start January 2108 on a high and get these boxes of aid out to where they need to be. As always big love to you and thank you for your continued support - you are all amazing ❤️
