HELP FEED AFRICAN NEEDY CHILDREN, EVERY PENNY COUNTS! No Matter The Distance, We can Stand Together.

Hello, am James Mwesigwa.Am from Uganda East Africa. Me, my wife and a dedicated team of 25 people, 15 of whom just volunteered to work with us, we have for 17 years made it our role to ensure the needy children and orphans in areas we can reach in Uganda get food, cloths, beddings, medication and other basic needs plus sheltering those who lost their entire family or live with abusive guardians.

But it doesn’t actually start here, back in 1987 l was working for an organisation that was helping out women who were victims of HIV/AIDS in Uganda, l was still a little boy and my role on the team just like other energetic boys we worked with was helping out with the distribution of the things the organisation had got from its’ different donors and local churches to these women with the aim of ensuring they could still have a life they deserved even after losing their husbands due to HIV.

WE also had to sensitize them to go to hospitals for help because many still believed AIDS was some sort of witch craft so they instead resorted to local shrines for treatment which also contributed to loss of lives l believe would have been saved and the result was lots of children were left parentless and many women widows, for me this is where l felt so heartbroken seeing these children so helpless at a tender age, many of them ended up in their relatives’ hands most of whom cared less if at all they even did about these children.

They wouldn’t be bothered whether they had something to eat, some clothes to put on or other basic needs, l was a boy and couldn’t do much for them and the worse part of it came when the organisation l worked for closed down and even the women we had been giving help to were to receive it no more, l knew for sure most of the children were going to have a hard time growing up on their own or with mothers and guardians who had not much if any to support them.

l cannot pretend l knew exactly how it felt to them but seeing most of them on our village and neighbouring villages l could tell they were going through a lot , a lot to handle at their age, especially those who had no one to guide or stand with them.

When l got a new job as a mason because l had got the building skills from my father, l started buying some already used clothes and sometimes even snacks and take to some of the kids that lived close to our home, l was still living at my parent’s place so l was not living on a big budget hence could afford to spare some money to buy these things and by then they weren’t even that expensive like to day.

That went on for some time until one day when l was looking for some cheap toys to give to some five kids so that they could have something to distract then from the hard times they were facing even if for a minute, l was trying to bargain with an indian man to reduce on the price so l was forced to tell him why l was buying them and that’s when things got really serious , Mr Rajiv together with his network of other Indians started giving me different things to take to children, l moved from village to village as far as l could reach by then, and before l knew it this had become my thing, my passion, my zeal, and my life to ensure these needy, under privileged children can also have some good life and be assured of a good future just like other children with their parents and also help out on those with parents but need support due the levels of poverty in our country, to encourage them that they can still make it regardless of their past situations or what they were going through.

It was a thing l was more than happy to do. It became really serious and in 2002 l registered an organisation called AID FOR CHILDREN AND AGED FOUNDATION [AFCAF]

because the law required me to do so in order to live with any child that needed help , later when l met my wife, girlfriend by then she joined in due to her love for kids too and later on other people joined us.

We currently have 223 children in our homes for needy children and also occasionally help out more than 700 children who live with their single mums or guardians but need support.

We have for a long time with help from the indian community

and other local good people been able to provide food, clothes, beddings, medication, water and other basic needs plus shelter to some who really need it. But unfortunately due to the current global crisis most of our supporters have pulled out due to their businesses being closed down and even the few that still give us help have cut on their budget. It is really getting tough for us with each day to feed the children and provide them other basic needs especially water which is critical in these times due to its’ high costs.

And humbly this is where we need your help, am sure even from a distance we can still stand together and make a difference in these children’s lives.

Your help of any amount can help us ensure they will not for a day stay without food, safe water, soap and with your donation of $100 more children are assured of beddings to reduce on congestion on one bed and a new bracket.

Together me and you we can make them feel love in a world they have only had pain at a very young age. Me and you doing this we make them tomorrow’s good dads, mums, ministers, teachers etc.

but what you are doing ensures one boy here is going to be someone’s good husband tomorrow, is gonna be an awesome dad someday, his wife or children may never know about you but your donation would have helped to create one beautiful family because trust me this is where in most cases it starts, a child goes through hell on earth , nobody cares,struggles on his/her own and grows up, finds a partner, gets children but deep down there is a thing he/she struggles with, the pain or anything they may have picked up while struggling on their own when growing up and this person may unknowingly start doing things that may negatively affect his/her family, they had no body to help them when they needed one , it may have been even just talking to them but later on it starts to affect other people, innocent children included and the partner who has no idea what his/her lover went through in the past.

We really cannot make it right for the entire world but we can break that cycle for those we are able to help out, let us make them happy right from inside by letting them know they are not on their own, there are people willing to help them get to point B.

We have budgeted for $53000 of which =

• $25000 is for food to take us for the next three months
• $10000 is to buy more beddings and brackets to reduce on congestion on beds
• $18000 is for paying for water bills and buying some soap and other basics for the next three months
