Ahmad wants to help 150 families in his Gaza City neighborhood with purchasing basic necessities of food, medicine and fuel.

Ahmad writes: Gaza is considered to be 'the world's largest prison' and one of the most densely populated areas in the world. The population of this small strip of land on the Mediterranean coast that is wedged in between Israel and Egypt is over 2 million people. There are five thousand people living in one square kilometer. The borders are heavily regulated and supply trucks cannot get through consistently. This leads to shortages of food, medicine, building materials and fuel for homes.

In addition, chronic power cuts leave only one hour a day of electricity which is not enough to keep the pumped water clean, prepare food, complete homework or even run a fan in this hot climate. Many people, especially children, suffer from thirst and disease.

People are struggling every day with with less than the bare minimum. With your help, we can genuinely make a difference to 150 families in my neighborhood!

Ahmed is a 20-year-old engineering student who lives in Gaza City.
