African Mission

My name is Beverly Jones Hood. I am a retired educator who loves volunteering. I am an active member of Williams Chapel Church and its International Mission team. I have traveled with our mission team on three international missions. These missions have taken me twice to Jamaica and once to Kenya. Since my first trip in 2013, I have not been the same. I am at a point in my life where I long to invest time working with children in other countries. I know that this is my new calling. A touch or a smile made a day for children who were abandoned just because they were handicapped. Putting shoes on the feet of children who never had the pleasure of wearing them gave me an inner peace that’s indescribable. Giving hope to children, who are surviving with little or nothing is the greatest pay check.

Since these trips are funded solely by the individuals going on these missions, I must rely on family and friends for donations to travel with the mission team. On August 11, 2016, my church (Williams Chapel Church) will embark on its third mission trip to Africa. It is my greatest desire to travel with the mission team to continue the Great Commission charged by Jesus. With your donations and support, I can make this mission trip to Kenya.
