Since we started this organization in November 2016, we have successfully executed 7 initiatives which have aligned to the mission of impacting our African community (in Canada, as well as back home). A general overview of these can be found on our website (www.africanimpact.ca) under the "initiatives" section.
As a non-profit organization, we rely fully on donations and funding grants to execute these projects. Our network of volunteers and the various teams also give their time for free. We are creating this campaign in an effort to raise funds for future projects, so that we can continue to solve problems and create lasting impact.
Our last project back home took place in Southern Nigeria (in December 2018). We provided medical equipment and machinery at no cost to a rural community, through a partnership with their local community hospital. These are now being used to address their most pressing healthcare needs. Details and images/videos can be viewed here: https://www.africanimpact.ca/rural-development-pro...
Over the course of collecting feedback and providing support in the last few months, we discovered that they still collect patient information on paper (which creates a challenge in getting data from them, to measure the impact of the project). A bulk of the funds raised from this campaign will be specifically used to help the hospital digitally improve/transform through IT. We hope to provide them with a few laptops and an electronic medical records system, to collect & store patient information as well as hospital inventory.
