My name is Bridget Kamanzi and I’m currently a student at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. I am the dance coach and also one of the mentors at the African Cultural Services. Our dance team has been invited to perform at the Waldbune Ahmsen theater located in Berlin, Germany on June 23rd 2018. My kids and I are really looking forward to go on tour to Germany because it will be giving us a big opportunity to step out our comfort zone. Going to Germany will make a major impact on us because we will also be given the opportunity to illustrate the beauty of Africa through the art of dance. By supporting our fundraiser, you are helping us support our primary mission of showing Africa to the world.
African Cultural Services (ACS) is an educational tribute and community program for children of all ages. It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Waltham, MA in the USA. Many non- African individuals have created their own perceptions and generalizations of Africans and what they think Africa is. African cultural services’ main goal is to promote African cultural awareness throughout the world, while debunking myths and stereotypes about Africa. We want people to understand that despite cultural differences, there is still a lot that can connect Africa with the rest of the world.
Children are the face of tomorrow and we believe educating them on their background is highly important. African Cultural Services gives children an opportunity to learn about where they come from and encouraging them to be proud of their identity. Our organization provides fun workshops such as dancing, drumming, storytelling, plays, and arts and crafts. With these activities, we celebrate the beauty and diversity of African culture, music, food, lifestyle, and fashion. Aside from this, we also help the kids academically by assisting them with homework. ACS is a place where young people can be educated and entertained at the same time.
Money raised from this fundraiser is to cover the funds needed for our kids to go on tour. Our goal is to raise $20,000. All is appreciated. Anything counts so please support if you can. Thank You!
