Association African Village opened it's doors in the late 2017. Our aim was to connect the Africans living in Slovenia and become a vibrant ''home-away-from-home'' and a cultural hub for anyone interested in Africa and it's culture. We are also the organizers of the only African festival in Slovenia called Afriška VasFest (African VillageFest).

African VillageFest 2018/Afriška VasFest 2018

Association African village brings together the Africans living in Slovenia and everyone interested in African culture, history and future. Through thematic evenings, lectures, presentations and workshops we spread knowledge about Africa and help people get to know its culture. We promote positive awareness of Africa and help develop the community spirit in the diaspora. Within the Association African Village we run a small ethnic African shop named Petit Afrique which supplies the African community with specialized food and cosmetic products. All the profit is dedicated to the organization of cultural events and assistance and counseling to migrants.

As of this year, the community's pressure has been strong. We are in desperate need of a meeting centre. The African Cultural Centre is planned to open its doors in 2019 and start with its educational activities as soon as possible. A major part of our Association's activities has been given to providing advice, economical, social and legal help to all members of our community and environment. We have performed all of these activities so far from our small 20m2 (200 sq.ft.) ethnic shop.

Our association's goals are to

• link and strenghten relations in the African community in Slovenia
• Promote positive awareness of Africa
• Spread knowledge about African culture, history, present and future
• Bridge the intercultural differences between the African migrants and Slovene natives and thus strengthen their social ties

The African voice is often misrepresented, stereotyped and overlooked. Our goal is to help African migrants become a part of a more assertive and accepting community in Slovenia.

Zavod Afriška Vas je svoja vrata odprl konec leta 2017. Naš cilj je bil povezati afričane, ki živijo v Sloveniji in postati živahen ''drugi dom'' in kulturno središče za vse, ki jim je blizu Afrika in afriška kultura. Smo tudi organizatorji edinega afriškega festivala v Sloveniji imenovanega Afriška VasFest.

Zavod Afriška Vas združuje v Sloveniji živeče Afričane, ter vse, ki jih zanima afriška kultura, zgodovina in prihodnost. S pomočjo tematskih večerov, predavanj, predstavitev in delavnic širi znanje o Afriki in pomaga pri spoznavanju njene kulture, promovira poztitivno zavest o Afriki ter pomaga pri njenem razvoju. V okviru Zavoda Afriška Vas deluje tudi manjša afriška etnična trgovina Petit Afrique, s katero oskrbujemo afriško skupnost s specializiranimi prehrambenimi in kozmetičnimi izdelki. Ves profit namenimo organizaciji kulturnih dogodkov ter pomoči in svetovanju migrantom.

Od letošnjega leta je pritisk skupnosti postal zelo močan. Obupno potrebujemo center za srečanja. Odprtje afriškega kulturnega centra načrtujemo za leto 2019 in z izobraževalnimi dejavnostmi bi začeli nemudoma po odprtju. Velik del naših dosedanjih dejavnosti je bil namenjen svetovanju, ekonomski, socialni in pravni pomoči vsem članom naše skupnosti in okolja.Vse te dejavnosti smo izvajali v naši majhni etnični trgovini veliki le borih 20m2.

Cilji našega zavoda so

• povezati in okrepiti odnose v afriški skupnosti v Sloveniji
• Spodbujati pozitivno zavest o Afriki
• Razširiti znanje o afriški kulturi, zgodovini, sedanjosti in prihodnosti
• Premostiti medkulturne razlike med afriškimi priseljenci in domačini ter tako okrepiti njihove družbene vezi

Afriški glas je velikokrat napačno predstavljen, stereotipen in spregledan. Naš cilj je pomagati afriškim migrantom da postanejo del bolj trdne in sprejemljive skupnosti v Sloveniji.

Zbiramo donacije za odprtje kulturnega centra v Ljubljani. Naš cilj je 10,000€ in donacije v vseh zneskih so več kot dobrodošle.
