This is Milo Mango, a local dog that I recently met with some friends while in Cuba. We met Milo on our 2nd day in Guardalavaca and She started following and hanging out with us. She was so sweet and affectionate. After our first meeting, we were inseparable and spent a large portion of our time with her. After a couple of days of running into her on the hotel grounds and spending our time with her, she started to stay in our room. We bathed and de ticked her since she was itching alot and we wanted her to be more comfortable ( Cuba is HOT <3) . Anytime we parted we would run into each other not too long after. We grew quite attached to each other. On our last day, about 20 minutes before our bus to the airport arrived she came and found us... Getting on the bus was hard but I managed to distract her so she didn’t notice us leave as abruptly. While in Cuba I made the decision that I wanted to adopt her and bring her to Canada but had very little time to organize it. After talking to some people I found out that it is pretty common to bring dogs to Canada from Cuba as there are so many strays. Since returning home I have been doing research and have been in touch with an animal rescue group in Cuba that can give her the vaccinations and deworming she needs to leave the country. My hopes are to return to Cuba in late September or October and bring her home. My guess is she’s a few years old. She is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met and leaving her behind was heartbreaking. I’m asking for donations of any size to help raise some funds in order to go get her and bring her home with me. For anyone who can make a donation, I can offer a creative keepsake as a token of my appreciation ( Like a T-shirt or button or magnet ;)
