Adopt a Search Party

Families whose loves ones have been victims of enforced disappearances have formed search parties through a collective called Milynali Red. Together, they comb through some of the most dangerous parts of Mexico with their own funds and small donations from families and friends. Many have had to stop working to be able to continue searching for their missing children, parents, siblings and friends. This campaign invites you to support these families by adopting a search party. The searches last for five days and are carried out by seven family members and two independent forensic experts.

You can adopt a complete 5-day mission for $500. This will cover gasoline, food and water, and lodging (the search site are often in remote regions) for a 9-person search party.

Alternatively, you can adopt a search party for one day for $100.

You can also support the search by donating kits:

- Citizen forensic kit: Contains disposable latex gloves, face masks, disposable overboots, disposable coveralls, pennants, plastic photo numbers, and one small shovel. $50

- First-aid kit: Contains mosquito repellent, tic repellent, band-aids, disenfectant, anti-venom ointment for snakebites, antiseptic cream, scar treatment cream, bandages, gauze, hydrogen peroxide, antihistamines, paracetemol and of course, Vicks Vapor Rub (for itch-relief from bug bites). $25

We are also happy to receive flexible donations of any amount.

For all donations, we will show our thanks by sending you a photograph from the search party that you adopted, or the kit that you donated, along with a thank-you note signed by the families of Milynali Red.
