Adopt a granny

Globally, the COVID-19 pandemic has had devastating effects on the population with the elderly disproportionately affected. Similarly, in Kenya and specifically Kisumu County where we operate, COVID-19 continues to spread as more individuals and communities are feeling the impact in their daily lives. The urgent need for medical supplies, basic necessities, and quality healthcare is only increasing as more communities become affected by COVID-19 and hence a growing need for relief support especially for the elderly who have been neglected (forgotten) as many individuals and households strive to come to terms with the adverse economic effects/ loss of livelihoods resulting from government enforced measures aimed at stopping the spread of COVID-19, which include a ban on social gatherings, curfews, Closure of learning institutions, restrictions on in-country travel as well as encouraging people to work from home and reinforcing preventive measures. These measures have had companies forced to send their staff on unpaid leave or cutting pay.
