Ever since I can remember I've always wanted to travel, experience life to its fullest, be of value, make a difference and inspire. Unfortunately I have not had much opportunity or means to do any of it. Being a bit 'different' from most people (I've been called wayward on more than one occasion, LOL) I have never had a clear vision of where I would be one day or what I will be doing. Truthfully I never thought I would get to this age (bit weird for a small child to think this way). I was not particularly great at anything but also do not suck at most things. I did not have a 'dream vision or career' in mind. However I always felt that I would be an adventurous world traveler and experience life in all it has to offer.
Fast forward 20+ years I am still living in in my home town where I grew up, still do not really have a clear career path AND have never traveled outside the borders of South Africa. Not even a lot of traveling within South Africa.2019 has been tough. I've been unemployed a record of 3 times this year (there must be some sort of prize for this).I have recently come to the realization that it is perhaps the perfect time to start anew with a TRIP OF A LIFETIME, Adele's Dream Journey. I want to learn, experience, give back and pay it forward. I want to make a difference in peoples lives. I want to learn the ways of the world, experience life, walk in someone's shoes, make a difference in someone else's life, rescue animals, learn the way of the land and all else life has to offer. What a better place to start than our beautiful continent, Africa. For some reason I am fixated on Malawi.Described as the ‘Warm Heart Of Africa’, the friendliest people in Africa, ages old culture, tradition and crafts, high mountain peaks, white water rivers and broad blue lakes. This said it is also one of the world's poorest and least-developed countries. The economy is heavily based in agriculture, with a largely rural population. The Malawian government depends heavily on outside aid to meet development needs. The Malawian government faces challenges in building and expanding the economy, improving education, healthcare, environmental protection, and becoming financially independent.
This is where my dream comes in.South African passports do not need a visa, with free entry up to 3 months. There are 1000's of great outreach programs in various fields throughout the country. Sadly for me most of them are 'paid for by you' in dollars. My plan, vision and mission is to do work exchange programs where work is compensated in free accommodation. This will enable me to have lots of free time to be able to join volunteer programs as a visitor without officially joining them as an official volunteer.WOW, quite a mouth full. But here we have it. I need assistance with day to day living, traveling, etc. expenses. Any and every 'cent, dollar, pound, euro' will be SO MUCH APPRECIATED for the first leg of Adele's Dream Journey.
For more info on the different volunteering and outreach work i'm planning on doing please contact me and I am super excited to share.
Love to all
