Stripe makes it easier than ever for donors to make payments to you with debit and credit cards. PayPal also allow you to accept card donations (without forcing the donor to register with PayPal) but that is only if you have a verified Premier or Business account.
Furthermore, we've found that some of the less Internet savvy donors can sometimes have trouble finding the pay with card option on PayPal.
We want you to raise the most money possible. And by enabling Stripe (or better yet Stripe and PayPal) you'll give donors the best possible payment experience.
It's totally free to setup and should just take you a minute or two.
No problem, in our first few years of operation PayPal was the sole payment method.
Donors will simply see the pay with PayPal option upon donating. Although make sure you have a verified Premier or Business PayPal account (both free to setup) to ensure donors can pay with credit cards without having to signup with PayPal. More on the requirements in the PayPal FAQ link.
In additional to individual users, Stripe is designed to help businesses get paid online too and their terminology reflects that. The fields that can only be completed if you are indeed a business, such as the EIN / company number, are optional.
For the 'Tell us about your business question', just add a couple of words about your fundraiser. For the business address field, simply enter your personal address.

Enable Stripe
Stripe is an alternative payment processor to GoGetFunding card processing. We only recommend enabling it instead of our solution if you are already familiar with Stripe.
Stripe makes it easier than ever to accept donations on GoGetFunding via debit and credit card.
UK, Ireland, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain: Receive funds in EUR, GBP or USD
Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden: In addition to GBP, EUR & USD, bank accounts in Denmark can receive funds in DKK, NOK to a bank account in Norway, and SEK to a bank account Sweden.
Australia: Receive funds in AUD
Hong Kong: Receive funds in HKD & USD
Japan: Receive funds in a JPY-denominated bank account
Create a Stripe account right here in seconds and immediately accept card payments.
In the background, we have created a GoGetFunding eWallet for you using your name and email address. You can automatically accept credit and debit card payments into your eWallet and no further set up is required.
You can withdraw funds from your eWallet into your bank account at any time from your personal GoGetFunding dashboard. Please note, you will need to complete a verification process before withdrawing funds. That includes submitting photographic proof of identity (passport/driving license/ID card).
Your payments and the verification process is powered by Leetchi Corp SA, founded in 2012 and granted an e-money issuer license by the CSSF (http://www.cssf.lu - license number: W00000005).
All funds in your central balance are safely held in a Barclays segregated client money account & protected by The Financial Services Compensation Scheme. The company operates under strict confidentiality and security procedures and are trusted by over 700 clients in 28 countries.
How this works
The payment processing company handling verification on our site has updated its verification requirements for fundraisers based in Croatia. The additional requirements should be very easy to comply with. However, if you do not have the following, you may need to consider someone else becoming validated for you instead.
Here is what you will need to submit:
A copy of your valid passport, photocard driving license or National ID card (this has not changed).
Confirmation of your bank details. This is a document that can be obtained from your bank or downloaded if you have online banking.
Proof of address. Only the following forms of proof of address can be accepted, and must be dated within the last 3 months:
Government-issued letter;
Utility bill (energy, water, internet, home insurance, etc. - not mobile phones);
Certificate of residence issued by the local council.
Please note you must submit a copy of the entire document which clearly states your name and address.

Reminder
For GoGetFunding Card Payments, you will need to verify the identity of the recipient when withdrawing funds. For South African residents, we require a passport. Unfortunately, at this time a South African ID card is not sufficient. Please only continue with GoGetFunding Card Payments if you or the recipient has a passport to verify their identity.
With GGF Card Payments you will be able to accept payments via debit and credit cards and that will be credited to your eWallet from where you can withdraw to your local bank account.
However, please note due to significantly more legal and administrative issues associated with paying local accounts in your country, we need to charge a higher fee than normal. That is 8% + 0.30c per donation. Funds are typically eligible for with withdrawal 30 days after donations are made.
Please click ‘Enable’ to proceed.

Do you really want to remove this team member? This process cannot be undone.
Are you sure you want to launch without enabling Stripe? We highly recommend you enable Stripe in addition to PayPal to make it as easy as possible for people to donate.
Your page has been successfully created, but will need to be reviewed by our team (in just a couple of hours) before going live. We'll email you as soon as it's open for funding.
Warning: you are deactivating your only payment processor. Your campaign will not be able to receive payments. Your campaign will be shown as stopped until you re-activate a payment processor.
Crowdfunding is all about getting donations from YOUR crowd. This could be friends, family, colleagues, social media contacts, or your local community - all people who know you and want to support your cause.
The magic happens when your crowd starts sharing your campaign with their crowd and they start donating and sharing too. The more your campaign is shared, the more buzz it creates, attracting donors from outside your own network.
Expecting or hoping for donations from strangers in the early stages of crowdfunding should never form part of your fundraising strategy. Always focus on those closest to you.
If you do not have anyone close to you who wishes to donate, it may just be that crowdfunding is not the right option for you at this time.
Be clear and specific
Potential donors need to quickly understand what you need and how their contributions will make a difference.
Clearly state the cause, your goals, and how the funds will be used. Avoid jargon and complex language to make your appeal easily understandable to a wide audience.
Tell Compelling Stories
Stories create emotional connections and help donors relate to your cause. Avoid the mistake of presenting only facts and figures without a compelling narrative
Share personal stories or anecdotes that illustrate the impact of your campaign and remember to make it personal and let your personality shine through
Create a Sense of Urgency
Donors are more likely to act when they perceive a sense of urgency. Clearly convey why donors should take action now rather than later. Explain the immediate need for support and the potential consequences of delay.
Be ready to work
Crowdfunding is amazing, great fun and so rewarding. But it is definitely NOT a create, launch, and forget endeavor. Crowdfunding can (and should) involve a couple of hours of work a week ensuring you are sharing, engaging, and maintaining your campaign.
Highlight Yourself / Your Team
Introduce the individuals or team behind the campaign. Humanizing your cause by showing the people involved can create a stronger emotional connection. Using updates (from your dashboard) can be a great way to do this!
