Adams Family Homestead

Build a House- Our family has designed a house which is fully functional for our needs but small by modern day standards. The house will be no more than 500 sq ft and have 2 loft bedrooms, 1 ground floor master, 1 full bath, full kitchen and small living area. We took a look at European and Asian homes and designed our dream house after them. While the home is tiny it will also reduce heating and energy costs allowing it to be run completely by solar and wind energy.

Garden- Unlike traditional gardens that have seasons we want to build an Aquaponics garden that can be run and maintained year round. Not only will we not have to til the land to plant crops but we also will be able  to reduce plants water consumption by 98% since its continuously filtered and recycled. We also plan on adding a small orchard eventually as well.

Solar & Wind Power- The entire property will be run on solar and wind power. In Oklahoma we get plenty of both so why not use it!

The remaining grounds will be kept untouched to encourage wildlife with the exception of a small driveway into the property but even that will be kept as natural as possible.

In the future after  we have this one up and running we plan on using it as a model to set up similar home sites for those who need low cost housing. That is are ultimate goal.
