AdAid project concept. Application of online marketing technologies for charitable purposes.
The name of the project speaks for itself: “ad” – advertising, “aid” – help, support, so “AdAid” stands for using advertising for charity.
The goal of this project is to create a web platform, where we will publish all available information about active charitable campaigns to help them raise funds. We will also post banner ads on web pages describing those charity events, and all the incoming advertising revenues will be forwarded to the corresponding charity fundraisers. We will try to publish information about as many charity events that are currently active worldwide as possible, including but not limited to, social development projects, peace restoration and enforcement, science and education, animal protection and protection of the natural environment, treatment, support and rehabilitation fundraisers, and so on.
You have probably seen publications about such charity fundraising events in the social networks, when empathic and caring people share such information hoping to find financial support. Our project AdAid is aimed at providing means of help to all who care, even if they do not have financial ability to do so. Each repost, each story view about a charitable event will be considered as help, because in those stories there will be ads placed, and all the incoming advertising revenues will be forwarded to the corresponding charity fundraisers and organizations. Hence, each story view and a repost in social networks will generate some help for those in need.
The importance of supporting charity fundraisers and organizations, as well as individual charity campaigns
In our opinion if people only support individual fundraising campaigns, charity organizations launching and carrying those campaigns out, would lack budgeting, they wouldn’t have enough financial support due for their operations. Consistent financial support is essential for the consistency of their operations, as well as for the growing number of campaigns they would be able to launch and carry out. Therefore, on pages dedicated to certain spheres of charity activities (for example, social development, disease treatment and rehabilitation, environmental and animal protection), there will also be information about charity organizations responsible for those activities; revenues from banner ads placed in those informational sectors will be forwarded to the corresponding organizations.
Prospects of online advertising
The latest developments in the industry of banner ads (the so-called Real Time Bidding banner ads) help generate income for each view of such banner ads. To diversify the above-mentioned revenues, we will also place contextual advertising (also known as “Google Adsense”) there. According to our estimates, each webpage view would generate from 5 to 10 cents, and with enough scaling, those revenues would be substantial aid to charity organizations and fundraising campaigns.
The AdAid project objectives:
- Give anyone a chance for charitable aid. Everyone can help even without donating actual money to fundraisers. We will turn your views and website visits in real funds that will then be used for charitable purposes.
- Provide more social media coverage for charity funds and individual charity events.
- Create an effective sustainable tool for raising of funds for charity and social development causes.
- Grow the number of people involved in social development and charity activities.
We do not raise funds for specific charity events, we only provide them with an additional source of funding
In each charity event description published on our website there will be contact information and bank routing details of the corresponding charity fund, organization or a private individual responsible for the raising of funds. We will only help those individuals and organizations receive additional funding by placing the Real Time Bidding banner ads on their dedicated web pages.
What we need crowdfunding for:
- Web platform creation. Professional website development with all the necessary utility functions, plus the hosting services require quite significant investments of funds.
- Promotion of website. This one is probably the biggest cost item. As the project concept suggests, the bigger the audience reach, the more funds will be raised for charity purposes. This cost item includes advertising on similar thematic resources, SMM and other promotional practices, all of which require substantial cash injections.
- Work organization and management costs. Large amounts of data processing and promotion of it, search of and communication with advertising providers, allocation of funds between the campaigns require substantial workforce and, consequently, payroll.
The stated goal of our crowdfunding campaign, which is 9000 Euros, is only a part of the budget we’ll need. Most of the expenses will be covered by our team’s own funds, with the help of our direct partners. If this crowdfunding contribution will surpass the estimated 20 000 Euros needed for implementation of this project, we will allocate the surplus between the charity events and organizations covered on our website.
With your help and support we are hoping to create an effective sustainable fundraising tool for charity and social development purposes. Just imagine a world, where each and every person will be able to help those in need, even if they do not have money to donate. Together we can build a community of caring individuals, a community of people saving lives and working together to address global challenges just by spreading information on the internet.
This will be a major step towards the future of fundraising, where each person would have a chance to take active part in worldwide charity events. Instead of giving a man fish and feeding him for a day, we’ll teach them to fish so they can feed themselves for a lifetime – metaphorically, that is what this project is about, - creating an effective sustainable fundraising tool to help those in need.
This is a charitable project. Unfortunately, we cannot offer you anything in exchange for your donations. However, from our point of view, your assistance in creation of a major charity project is much more valuable than getting something materialistic for your own use. The only thing we can offer to you, is our sincerest gratitude and mention by name (you or your organization) in the appropriate section of our future website.
If you like our project, and if you have similar views and intentions as we do, but cannot afford a monetary donation, we would be eternally grateful if you helped us spread the word about it.
We are open to communication and feedback. Do forward any questions you might have in regards to our project to our email: [email protected]
