Hello!

Thank you for your interest in our work!

Across The River Collective is a group of artists from Guadalajara, Mexico; Brisbane, Australia; Bangalore, Kochi, Irinjalakuda, and Delhi, India.

Our names are Beto Ruiz, Alex Beard, Lakshman KP, Ramith Ramesh, Kapila Venu, and Uma Katju.

Since the beginning of June, we’ve been all together in Irinjalakuda, Kerala, developing a devised theatre piece— a response to the work of Arundhati Roy’s God of Small Things and Perumal Murugan’s One Part Woman— in order to open the show in Delhi in September and hopefully tour it to Mexico in December.

The work is largely physical and experimental in nature, and draws upon themes such as life & friendship, limits on freedom & transgressions, fate, secrets and death.

Only problem is, we need some help to finish what we started.

In March, we self funded the initial development of this work in Irinjalakuda.

This time, we have generated a portion of our income by providing workshops to artists in Irinjalakuda and Kochi, and through donations and a lot of self funding. We have also been applying for a number of grants that we are yet to hear the result of. However, without this secured funding, the difference between our budget and income is unsustainable.

That’s why we’re reaching out to you and the community for your support.

Your donation will go toward paying for our base expenses for this month, such as our rehearsal space, our Stage Manager’s remuneration, production costs, some of our travel expenses, accommodation and food.

If funding does come through, your donation will go towards future productions of this work.

You can checkout some media engagements our director, Beto, has had during our time in Kerala speaking about his practice, our philosophy and the workshops we’ve been conducting.

You can also follow our process, and upcoming performances on Facebook.

By donating you’re becoming a part of this journey.

Thank you!

ps. You don't need a PayPal Account to make a donation. When the payment portal opens, you can choose to donate by Visa or Mastercard in the lower right section of the page.
