Campaign Story
In 2014 Ines was brutally attacked by her estranged boyfriend with the unthinkable: he threw battery acid into her face causing unbearable pain, burning and scarring. The acid reached her chest which resulted in her losing her breasts. To date she has had 40 surgeries, but requires many more to ease the traction (that characteristically occurs with this kind of burn) as well as many more skin grafts. She is still unable to work due to the long recovery process and has a daughter aged 6, she is doing her best to support. She rents a one roomed out-building in which they both live. Ines' dream is to continue with her dress-designing course. She is also passionate about sharing her story with women and young girls so they can learn to heed warning signs to avoid this kind of horror. She is strong and determined to get through all this while also being a mom to her beautiful daughter. As her family has abandoned her, she has no means of financial support and very little emotional support and is asking for your generosity to help her to get on her feet.
